CHAPLAINCY has been the wrestle and joy of my life.

When I started my master of divinity at Harvard Divinity School, I felt called to be a military chaplain. There was one problem: my church had never endorsed a woman for military chaplaincy. For years, I asked for endorsement. For years, men told me “no.”

But God kept saying yes.

In 2022—nearly seven years after that first semester at Harvard, and after working as a hospital and prison chaplain—I became an Air Force chaplain. (And yes, my church leaders endorsed me, bless them.)

I could say a lot about all that, but dancing to this song sums it up pretty concisely (and it’s a lot more fun). ;)

WRITING a memoir about my time as a prison chaplain is deeply difficult and fulfilling. If you’d like to know when my book is finished, I’d be thrilled to add you to my email list. (And if you’d like to pray for me, I’d be equally thrilled, because seriously, how do people finish books?!)

YOGA THERAPY transformed my life slowly but surely. There’s no magic pill to fix your problems, my friends, but let me tell you: yoga therapy works wonders. I delight in providing yoga therapy sessions to help support clients in their healing, peace-finding, and growth. Learn more here.
